This year, the military buildup on the Russia Ukraine border has entered a new level which analysts say is an indication of possible Russia invasion. This is due to Ukrainian attempt to become a member of NATO ( a western military alliance). Russia claims NATO incursion into Ukraine threaten its security. US, a NATO member has provided what it calls “lethal aid” - weapons, logistics to Ukraine who isn’t a member of NATO.

In 2022, Nayib Bukele President of El Salvador used funds from his country national reserve to purchase 15milllon dollars worth of Bitcoin. He claimed that cryptocurrency was a safer and sustainable way of keeping a country reserve than keeping it in traditional currency such as the US dollars.
