For the purpose of this debate, “fractal autonomy” refers to a proposed model of governance where authority is decentralized from the federal government down to regions, states, local governments, and even municipalities. Each level has independent control over critical functions such as taxation, community policing, political administration, and revenue generation. This autonomy is layered and overlapping, meaning each level operates with a high degree of independence while still being part of a larger national framework.

The Tea App is a women-only social networking platform. It was designed as a private space where women can discuss relationships, share dating experiences, and exchange warnings about potentially harmful men. Membership is restricted to women, and the app’s primary purpose is to provide a closed community for these discussions.

Monetizing virality refers here to the practice of financially rewarding creators when their content goes viral. Many platforms, such as TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter/X, run programs that pay creators based on engagement metrics like views, clicks, or watch time. These schemes directly tie creator earnings to the popularity and reach of their posts.

For this debate, organized religion refers to structured systems of faith with formal institutions, doctrines, and leadership hierarchies — such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. These systems often influence moral codes, cultural practices, education, and political engagement. They are distinct from personal spirituality or individual belief, which may exist independently of institutions.

Throughout history, organized religion has played significant roles in shaping societies. It has been central to moral frameworks, community life, education, and social movements, while also being associated with sectarian conflict, the legitimization of political power, and resistance to scientific or social change.

Liberty means the freedom of individuals to make choices without interference, such as freedom of speech, freedom of movement, and property rights. Equality means that people should have fair access to opportunities, resources, or outcomes, so that no one is left far behind.

In many political systems, these two values can come into conflict. For example, protecting liberty may allow large inequalities to grow, while pursuing equality may require limiting certain freedoms, such as taxing wealth or restricting business practices.

A Deffered Prosecution Agreement (DPA) is a deal between a prosecutor and an organization where prosecution is suspended in exchange for the company meeting specific conditions such as paying fines, making significant compliance reforms and, subjecting themselves to independent and external auditing. If the company complies, charges are dismissed and if it doesnt, prosecution resumes. 

A free-floating currency allows the exchange rate to be determined by market forces of supply and demand.

Nigeria has recently moved in this direction, unifying its multiple exchange rates so that the Naira's value is largely set by market activity.

A managed exchange rate with capital controls involves the Central Bank playing a direct role in stabilizing the currency. This can include setting official rates, limiting the movement of foreign currency, prioritizing allocations for certain sectors, and using foreign reserves to influence the Naira's value.

In February 2021, Myanmar’s military (the Tatmadaw) staged a coup, overthrowing the democratically elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi and the National League for Democracy (NLD). The coup triggered nationwide protests and armed resistance, leading to a civil conflict between the junta and various opposition groups.

In response, ousted lawmakers, civil society leaders, and ethnic minority representatives formed the National Unity Government (NUG) in April 2021. The NUG presents itself as a democratic alternative to the junta and claims legitimacy as the rightful government of Myanmar. It has sought international recognition, operates a shadow administration, and maintains alliances with ethnic armed organizations and resistance groups.

Incel culture refers to online communities of men who describe themselves as “involuntary celibates” — unable to secure romantic or sexual relationships despite desiring them. These communities often express resentment toward women, hostility toward men who are more successful in dating, and in some cases have inspired acts of violence.

In feminist theory, a “political category” is a classification used to organize collective political action. Womanhood as a political category” refers to the use of the identity of “women” as the

basis for feminist solidarity, activism, and advocacy. It assumes that those categorized as women share common structural disadvantages under systems such as patriarchy and is based on shared experiences of gendered oppression.

Nigeria uses a first-past-the-post( FPTP) voting system. Under a first-past-the-post system, the candidate with the most votes wins, regardless of whether they receive a majority of the votes. For example, in the 2023 elections, the current president of Nigeria was declared the winner with just  36% of the votes with about 64% votes combined going to other candidates. 

On the other hand, there is the " Ranked-choice voting (RCV) system" that allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference. If no candidate receives an outright majority of first-choice votes, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated, and their votes are redistributed to the remaining candidates based on the next preference indicated on those ballots. This process continues until a candidate with a majority is determined. 

A lottocracy is a system of governance in which representatives are selected randomly from the pool of eligible citizens instead of being chosen through elections. The selection is done by lottery, designed to produce a body that reflects the population. For example, in a Nigerian lottocracy, members of the National Assembly could be chosen by random draw from the national voter registry, ensuring representation across regions, genders, and age groups.
